good:
In Louis C.K.’s new one-hour stand-up special, Live at the Beacon Theater, the comedian jokes that he’s made his money from “being a professional asshole.” Within 12 days, the comedy show had netted that asshole another $1 million. And C.K. has decided not to spend it like a jerk.
Instead of lining exec’s pockets, Louis C.K. is using that $1 million to deliver health care, water, and capital to people in need. And he’s also giving his employees a big fat bonus.
Just finished watching this special. Such an amazing feat, though not his finest work (which is still, in my opinion, “Hilarious”). I love him for setting this standard. Not everyone in comedy could, or should, successfully sell themselves this way, but the fact that this model of doing business exists currently is pretty great.
